I love the word Luminous. It means full of light–shining, radiating or reflecting. All my favorite things to do! The word comes to use from Middle English, a language I adore from my Medieval Studies days. The root is Latin, lumen, a word we use in Medicalese to denote an opening in a tubular structure, like an artery or intestine. What a beautiful concept! Light inside our hollow spaces.
And Presence: the state or fact of existing. Being.
Wow. It just struck me what a very powerful name I have chosen for my practice. Luminous Presence. It requires great things of me, and I in turn ask the same of my patients. The work of turning our existence toward the inner light . For I fervently believe that it is only when we are connected to our source that we are able to enjoy true well-being.
